Bridges – Playing Fields

Two of the footbridges have now been replaced and we have had lots of lovely comments regarding the improvements made.

We await a design from our Civil Engineer for the large maintenance bridge.   There is some erosion of the banks of the beck and the bridge supports and the Environment Agency will need to approve the design prior to any works commencing. However we are planning to extend the length of the bridge so that it is supported on the land and not in the beck which should improve the flow.

This bridge is crucial to renovating the tennis courts and building of the MUGA as the tarmac and other materials will be carried over the bridge so we must ensure that it can take the load.

The bridge is also required for grounds maintenance to enable the larger equipment to cross, in particular a tractor to cut back the blackthorn hedge in Autumn.
