Safety at the Hall
As many people will be aware, following the heavy rainfall last year an area of the bank up to the bowls club slipped. This continued for a couple of months.
We have had several contractors/engineers to look at the problem, but it won’t be an easy fix. The main issue is the steepness of the bank, and once the level of water in the beck rises this undercuts the bank causing the slip. We have renewed the fencing to the area to prevent access and we
would access that you let your children know that it isn’t safe to go into this area. The work required to repair is extensive and will cost around £20,000. We are currently reviewing the options and also seeking funding.
Unfortunately we have reattached the fencing three times this week as it has been intentionally pulled from the supporting posts.
Also, update on the container.
Anti climb paint has been applied to the container after catching a young person in the act of climbing onto the top of it.
Speed of traffic in the car park
Due to vehicles using excessive speed entering and leaving the car park, a speed bump will be installed at the beginning of September. We ask that all drivers adhere to the 5mph speed limit which is in place purely to protect pedestrians of all ages.
